FT: Musk told Fedorov that he does not object to strikes with Starlink on targets in Russia

Borrador privado

Elon Musk, as Financial Times writes citing sources, made it clear to former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov that he does not object to the use of drones with Starlink for strikes on targets in Russia. According to the publication’s interlocutors, the White House should make the final decision in such a case.

Financial Times, citing sources, wrote that SpaceX founder Elon Musk told former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov that he was prepared not to object to such use of Starlink. According to the publication, this refers to drones equipped with Starlink satellite communications and to strikes on targets on Russian territory.

Interlocutors of the newspaper did not specify when exactly the conversation took place. They also said that the final decision should be made by the White House.

Fedorov himself refused to comment on the content of his conversations with Musk. He also did not say whether he plans to meet with him during his current trip to the US.

The Atlantic previously wrote that Fedorov had already discussed with Musk the use of Starlink for Ukrainian strikes on internationally recognized Russian territory. According to the magazine, Musk then replied that this would become possible if US President Donald Trump issued the corresponding order.

At the end of August, Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Musk the Order of Freedom, one of Ukraine’s highest honors.
